AIDS Walk

Each year since the founding of SILOAM, staff, volunteers, family and friends have partnered with the AIDS Fund on the third Sunday in October to walk 8.5 miles through Fairmount Park to raise much needed funds in support of direct care services, prevention and education programs, counseling and testing, medical care, and public awareness efforts in our community. Keep an eye on the Pool of SILOAM newsletter for details on how you can participate in this wonderful event. You may join as an individual walker on SILOAM Team #0389 or form your own sub-team to help us reach our annual fundraising goal. SILOAM benefits directly through annual grants from The AIDS Fund which are based on a percentage of total funds raised.

Art & Soul

Held for the first time on March 26, 2000 Art & Soul was held annually through 2004. The event received the 2001 Best in Philanthropy Award for a Best First Time Fundraising Event from The Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Art & Soul is made possible only by the amazing generosity of local and national artists who donate their works and those who appreciate and buy them.

Day of Service and Education for the HIV/AIDS Community

A special benefits day for those living with HIV/AIDS will be held in the Fall 2005. Watch newsletter for updates as details develop.
Heart of SILOAM Award

The Heart of SILOAM Award was conceived as a unique opportunity to honor those whose service to the HIV/AIDS community exemplifies the very heart of SILOAM’s mission. We recognize that an important partnership exists between individual caregivers and AIDS Service Organizations who dedicate themselves to the physical well being of people with HIV/AIDS, and SILOAM who helps them make sense of the virus in their lives through the physical, emotional and psychological healing benefits of spirituality. In 2003, the first Heart of SILOAM Awards were presented to The Jonathan Lax Treatment Center and Jeanmarie Zippo, R. N. of Action AIDS.
SILOAM Golf Classic

In 1999, the Golf Classic was started by George Lavin,  SILOAM’s first Board President, in memory of Mary Ann Manall, his personal assistant for thirty years. Every year since, the Golf Classic has been held on the third Monday of June.  Springfield Country Club in Delaware County hosted the 2005 event -- the most successful ever! The 2006 Golf Classic was held on Monday, June 19th at the Springfield Country Club and was a tremendous success.
Tenth Anniversary Celebration

A 10th Anniversary celebration, including Cocktail Reception, Live Auction, Dinner, and Heart of SILOAM Awards Presentation, was held at Villanova University on Saturday evening, September 10, 2005. Check back soon for pictures!
